Minerva Williams is a life-long Democrat, which she first realized when she was ten. She is the
Vice President of the Democratic Club of the Santa Clarita Valley. She helps her husband Todd maintain
the scvyoungdems web site by creating and publishing hundreds of fliers. She also does extensive outreach
and emailing to support local Democratic causes and candidates. She has served on the Butte County for two years and the Los Angeles County
Democratic Party Central Committee for the past five years and is a member of the
Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley, and also is currently serving on the California Democratic
State Central Committee. She is also the 13th regional coordinator in the State African American Caucus.
In 2003 she received the Black Faculty and Staff Association of CSU Chico Outstanding Leadership Award.
In 2004 she received the 11th Annual Maggie Award from the Associated Women's Center at CSU Chico.
In 2007 she received the Cerritos Community College CC BSU Honors Supporter trophy.
In 2008 Minerva, along with her husband Todd, she received the prestigious Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Award.
In 2010, she won the DP/SFV Truman Award for being an outstanding Democrat. Please see her
